I can't believe it if you swear you got to jail. I am not saying I swear but anyways. Using foul language shouldn't have that bad of a punishment. Maybe a fine would be okay, however a sentence to jail, these people are out of there minds!! I know swearing is bad but not that bad.
This is what I would do, I would give that person a warning and if he/she proceeds to cause a nuisance to the public then I would give them a fine. Another thing I would do is give the person a warning then I will tape their mouths with duct tape for a week which should be enough torcher to teach them a lesson.

I think the punishment is also a good example of overkill, but it makes me wonder what other strange laws and punishments are out there for things that in their day may have been deemed worthy of punishment, but now have become fairly normal?
